The left does not want us to be empowered or calm

The 24/7 news cycle bombards us with coronavirus crisis headlines, counting cases and deaths, telling horror stories, and blanketing the country with messages of danger and doom.

They've even started to tell "survivor" stories.

There are many horrors that human beings have overcome.  From everything I read and see, "survivor" is a stretch in this situation and diminishes shocking traumas and protracted suffering that humans have endured in unthinkable situations.  This is not to minimize the suffering of some who've contracted the virus, but the terminology ups the emotional ante in a manipulative and inappropriate way.

The left wants to keep us in a state of terror because it's easy to prey on those consumed with fear.  So the media gin up fear, leaving Americans feeling overwhelmed, confused, terrified, uncertain, and enveloped in a state of perpetual dread.

And for what?

Yes, this is a contagious novel virus that has infected nearly one million Americans (confirmed cases) and likely many more that we won't know about and many never know.

But for those who become infected, most recover just fine.  Some won't even develop symptoms.  For those at higher risk, commonsense precautions can be integrated into their daily lives.

There are many things that can, and do, make us ill.  And many things that can kill us.  If we obsessed over the myriad possibilities, we would be frozen in fear.  As many are now.  That is how the left wants it.

We can take care of ourselves, our loved ones, and our fellow Americans without allowing the left to keep us in a perpetual state of terror.

We need to defy the leftist media hysteria and crawl out from under our rocks.  There's work to do and life to live.
